Patting myself on the back...

Because I successfully completed some bridesmaid's bags...and I have never seen more beautiful tote bags in all of my life. I am making some for myself after I get all of the ones for the girls out of the way! I am tempted to take a page out of the Selfish Seamstress's book....

I'm going to be obnoxious and show off...here's a completed bridesmaid's bag:

I really like how structured the bag is, it looks really nice and tailored in real life. Once I got the hang of it, the other bags have been going so, so fast. I have 3 100% done and 2 more that just need the handles sewn on and the sides structured. I thought this project would take me forever but that hasn't been the case at all.

I do want to give the bridesmaid's something in addition to these bags, but I'm kind of stuck. The only thing I can think of is a vintage rhinestone pin. I want to give them something they'll really use and love. What are you all giving your bridesmaid's, any ideas for me?

  1. They look great! I know that they'll LOVE them...my Maids all loved the bags that I made them and it was more special to them for the time and effort (and love) that was put into making their gifts...

  2. The bags look great, think your girls will love that they are hand made.

I have got my girls bags made from an Etsy seller, with their initials inside, then jewellery, a pashmina and a hair comb to wear on the day.

  3. They look great! I’m giving the girls jewelry to wear the day of the wedding and again afterward, since the earrings and necklaces are very versatile.

  4. They look great! :) I have been making a list of bridesmaids gifts...so far I am getting them cute flats that fold up, a monogrammed bag (though you have that taken care of), some jewelry--a piece that really speaks to each of them, and I am making a little survival kit ala Miss Lace on Weddingbee. Not sure what else yet!

  7. Ahhhh! As one of your bridesmaids, I can honsetly say that I cannot wait to get my hands on this awesome gift! It will be my most prized of all totes----because I know that it was hand sewn by my aweomsely-crafty-wedding-planning-goddes-down-to-Earth friend. Couldn't be more excited!

They're a great size too! Plenty of room for anything I'll need to carry. This will definitely be my bridal bag of goodies I carry on my own wedding day! (Since the gorgeous fabric you've picked coordinates with my colors!

I'm debating on what I will get my bridesmaids. I would really like to give you all a monogrammed jewelry roll (for traveling), and I'm hoping to have something fun to go with it. Good thing I have enough time to think about it!

  10. Your tote looks great! U GO GIRL.......
How about a big beach towell? A necklace they can wear for the wedding and later?..... I like a single pearl between two sparkley things; this could be real economical... OR fill the bag with bath products and lotions, etc.......
