Mother of the Bride Dresses

Don' t you love mutually happy events?

I'm winding down my wedding recaps and I've been wanting to thank you all for following along on the wedding planning process, and then DesignerApparel.com e-mails me wanting to give one of you all a $75 gift card to Nordstrom's!

DesignerApparel.com is buddies with online retailer's like Nordstrom's and Bloomingdale's, and they have this Mother of the Bride Dresses page that helps brides-to-be and their moms (and their partner's moms!) find the perfect mother of the bride/groom dress. They have designers like Adrianna Papell, Tadashi and Eileen Fisher, all of them that don't look bridesmaidy (some moms don't want to blend in to much) but don't look matronly, so it's a really good mix.

The traditional long-dress-with-a-matching-jacket dress didn't fit the style of our wedding, so both my mom and my mother-in-law got their dresses at Nordstrom's -- which is why I thought this giveaway was so perfect since I can personally vouch for what a great idea this is!

I even have proof! Here's Ryan and his mom in her pretty Nordstrom's dress (I am 99.9% positive her's was from Nordstrom's, but she ordered several and returned the ones she didn't like so I'm a bit fuzzy on what came from where)....

And here's my mom in her Nordstrom's dress! My mom walked in, we looked for 20 minutes and she bought this. It was too easy.

DesignerApparel.com also makes your life easier with nice touches like price comparison, free shipping notices and sale notifications.

Here's how to enter: Just comment and tell me something warm and fuzzy. Was your coffee order perfect at Starbuck's today? Are you rocking your favorite outfit? Have you caught up with an old friend lately? Are you pumped it's almost fall? You have until...let's say Thursday September 2 at 7 p.m., Central time.

Just a note: I'm not getting anything out of this contest. They e-mailed me, I thought you all would love it, and I personally used Nordstrom's for my wedding shopping. There's the full disclosure my friends!

  1. Great giveaway! Let's see...my warm and fuzzy is that it's been perfect weather this week so far and I was able to go outside during lunch today and enjoy my book, which was awesome.

  3. oooh I love this giveaway idea! My mom got her dress at Nordstrom's as well! She was really worried about finding a dress and kept putting off shopping for one...believe it or not, we tried Nordstrom's first, and within the first 15 minutes, she found a dress that looks FABULOUS on her! That alone was a warm and fuzzy moment. :)

  5. Hi Stacy,
Yes, my dress was also from Nordstrom's. But they had to get mine in from Chicago. The best part of shopping at Nordstrom's is that they bring things from one department to the other to make it easy for you. (shoes, undergarments, jewelry, anything you need!)They do have great service.

  6. Ooh! My Mum would love me for this!

Warm and fuzzy... I'm having a bad day at work and my co-worker told me a story about how all of her underwear has gone missing so she's having to wear her most sexy ones and they are so uncomfortable that she has to go to the supermarket to buy some more. To cheer me up :) And I did laugh!

  7. Fun giveaway! I was working in a coffee shop today, drinking delicious iced coffee (even though the heat outside has broken) and one of my favorite songs from high school came on the ipod. I felt so good I actually started bobbing my head and humming. Warm and fuzzy!

  9. Great giveaway! My mom and I are still on the hunt for the perfect dress for her. My warm and fuzzy is related to that in fact. My mom and I both used to be overweight and over the past few yers, I've been working really hard and completely changed my diet and have seen some great results. My progress inspired my mom to get into taking care of her health and fitness as well. Well, she just competed and placed second in her third triathalon and called me to say that it was my voice inside her head telling her that she could do it! Its a great feeling! Oh yeah and now she really needs a rocking dress to show off! :)

  16. My warm fuzzy is I realized this week how much I am loving my pregnant body even though I've reached over 200 lbs, none of the weight matters. I feel my baby kicking and moving inside me and growing on a daily basis. That makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I'd use the Nordstroms gift certificate to keep me warm and fuzzy since I know my pre-pregnancy winter coat won't zip up.

  17. I will delurk for this. I own something warm and fuzzy, my precious bunny. She thinks she is a dog-part of her cuteness.

Also my husband and I are taking up running, you get partial credit on that inspiration.
