On Crying and Weddings

Definitely just got teared up watching the preview of Bethenny walking down the aisle in Bethenny's Getting Married.

We're 19 days out, and the thought of walking down that aisle towards Ryan is absolutely cry inducing.

But I'm wearing fake-*ss lashes, this isn't going to work!

Ryan and I are seeing each other before hand, we're taking a ton of pictures, we're doing a receiving line before the ceremony...I hope to goodness I can get as many tears out then as possible, because I don't want to lose it when I see him standing at the altar.

I'm really not that much of a crier (though Ryan would disagree).

So married ladies, fill me in: Did you cry? Did it surprise you that you cried? How much did you cry?

  1. I SO wanted to wear falsies but I'm a totally a crier. Surprisingly...I didn't cry much on my wedding...i was shocked!

  2. I didnt cry during the day; there were quite a few choked up moments with my dad beforehand then when my flowergirl sang then during our vows but I was trying so hard not to cry.

  4. I'm convinced crying is inevitable. Just one more reason why I'm undecided on whether to have my makeup professionally done, haha!

  5. OKay so I'm a BIG crier!! I would tear up just thinking about our wedding but strangely enough I didn't tear up and cry till Kyle started tearing up at the altar. He NEVER cries and when I saw him tearing up and wiping away tears that is when I could barely control myself... I ugly cried for sure. I wore lashes and had no problem with them. Love them! We had a 'first look' before the ceremony and I didn't cry for that either... just overjoyed to see him. :-)

  6. Haha I was just watching that show and started down the crying route myself.

Then I saw Ramona acting like an crazy person and that stopped the tears.

So, my advice it so invite Ramona Singer to your wedding and those falsies will be fine :)

  7. I thought I would cry during our first look and get it all out there. HA! Didn't happen. I didn't cry at all during our first look, but I nearly threw up walking down that aisle and throughout the ceremony. Hot. Mess. So yes, try to cry as much as you can early on. Like, cry every day from now til the wedding. It will hopefully help a bit.

  8. I thought I would be crying the entire day, but I surprised myself by only tearing up once or twice. Seeing the groom ahead of time really helped, and I also think the nerves kept me from really letting loose with tears, which was probably a good thing.

  9. Reading about all of the ladies who thoguht they'd cry and didn't, I'm seeing a glimmer of hope that I won't be an ugly-crier bride.

I cry pretty much every time I imagine anything to do with the wedding. I used to work at wedding reception and I got teary at those too.

  10. I shared about this on our blog. I did not cry barely at all the entire day. And the one time I did cry was when I was alone with our videographer talking to Mr Fix It in the camera :)

Down the aisle, I was too happy and all smily to cry I think. We also saw each other before hand and I thought I'd lose it there, but nope...totally didn't.

You may surprise yourself. Though I do think the fake lashes make it easier to cry than harder. I didn't have to wear mascara since I had the black lashes on :)

  11. Hmmm....I don't think I cried at all going down the aisle. I think I was just excited. I did get teary several times before the wedding (once during group photos, once getting ready) but surprisingly not during the first look. I guess tears came, but not when I would have expected them. The moments I thought would be teary were just happy. :)

  12. My thoughts are basically the same as Mrs. Gator's - I am a huuuge crier, but I really didn't cry as much as I thought I would throughout the day. I didn't cry much at all at our first look because I was more just overjoyed to see him and he calmed my nerves. I thought I would bawl throughout our whole ceremony, but I really only cried when I was walking down the aisle and I saw his chin quiver and the tears in his eyes and when I made eye contact with my aunt as she was doing our reading. I wore fake eyelashes and didn't have a problem with them all day! Just carry the glue with you if you're worried about it. You'll be fine! I can't believe it's so close! :)

  13. I also thought I would cry more than I did. Actually I had a sobbing breakdown the day before due to some fighting with my mom and that was the most I cried the entire weekend!

Just don't rub your eyes when you cry. You'll rub those lashes right off!

    Good luck with your wedding.

  14. Same as everyone here. I was just so happy. The tears appeared a few times, but only for a second.

    Fake lashes are the shizz!

  15. I'm pretty sure I'll cry because I'm a super emotional person. But they'll be happy tears :o)
