Sheer Hotness

So Ryan took me shopping for boots for my Christmas present, and while we were boot shopping (I found the perfect pair of brown flat boots, they are SO cute) I kept my eyes open for red shoes for the wedding. Ryan discovered this discount shoe warehouse in St. Louis (It's right off Olive just after 170, PS). They have really great brands and the prices are amazing-they had a pair of Kate Spade heels for $100. While I was wrestling my way into a couple pairs of boots, Ryan found 2 pairs of red shoes that he brought me to try on. The first pair was pretty, but strappier than what I had in my head. The second pair took my breath away...

Love them!

They are tall my friends, but they have a little platform built into the bottom so your feet don't suffer too terribly. Unfortunately, I needed a 7 and they only had a 6.5 and a 7.5. I bought the 6.5, and I plan to walk around the house in them and look into shoe stretcher-thingies. They really aren't that much too small, but I am getting married in July, so I'd like a bit more wiggle room. They are Nina shoes and I haven't seen this style on the Nina website ever, so I'm thinking they are from a season or 2 ago. The grand total was under $60, including tax!

They are perfect, and I am so excited to cross that off my list. All thanks to Ryan, who spotted them! The timing was great, as my dress comes in a few weeks and I'll definitely need these for fittings!

What shoes are you wearing for your wedding?

PS: My friend Melissa got engaged this weekend! She's my only non-blogger friend who's engaged (thank goodness for you all, I'd go nuts if I didn't have people to talk wedding with!), and I can't wait to see how her wedding is going to turn out!

No Such Luck

I keep finding shoes I love that just won't work!

Like these Nina beauties. They're 3.5 inches high, which is fine, and they are so gorgeous. They're $69.95, which is a great price, and they are pretty much perfect.

Ha, Stacy, not so fast! You thought that purchasing shoes would be a simple, easy, straightforward process?

Guess how many sizes they come in? 2, an 8 and an 8.5. I wear a 7 or a 7.5.

I don't give up easily my friends, a simple lack of my size will not deter me! I mean look at these shoes, would you give up on them?

They are perfection, and they don't come in my size. Don't worry, I already talked to the Nina Shoe people, this is what they said:

Dear Stacy,

Hello and thank you for contacting us!
Unfortunately, most of the sizes are out of stock. We are anticipating additional inventory by the end of the month. However, we do not have a method of knowing which styles, colors, and sizes will be included in the next inventory shipment. We suggest that you check the website regularly for the updated inventory.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Please let us know if you need additional assistance.
Thank you and enjoy your day!

Sincerely,

Oana

They sent me that e-mail within 5 minutes of me e-mailing them to ask about sizes. 5 minutes, aren't they amazing?

So if they don't have these shoes by the end of this month, I will move on. And by move on I mean continue to stalk Ebay and consider paying $200 to design custom Nina shoes.

Did you find things you like that just didn't work out?

Les Talons Haut

I was a French minor in college, but I still had to look up how to say "high heels" in French. I love that it's "les talons!"

Anyway, shoe wise....I need to get on it. I don't want to be stuck with a ton of stuff to buy 2 months before the wedding. It takes the edge off if you spread it around!

I am still in love with these that Ryan found.

Unfortunately, they don't come in red. I like them so much that I am willing to sacrifice the red shoes and wear ivory ones...but these don't come in ivory. Annoying. Also, they are $150....and the heel is 4.25 inches. What the hell? I mean, who can walk in 4.25 inch heels? That is ridiculous designers! Stop it, immediately. It is unnecessary.

Moving on! Unless these shoes show up in red, I have to find something else.

Right now, I am leaning towards these....

I know I would wear these again, and I think some vintage shoe clips would look really chic on these. Like these:

They're only $69, which I think is a good price for shoes I would wear again. The shoe clips are $30...which I guess makes them more like $90 shoes?

Also liking these, although I'm more of a flower-on-the-toe girl than a bow-on-the-toe girl. I'm not picky or anything, right? These are on sale for $66.

Those freakishly gorgeous Badgley Mischka white satin shoes have ruined me....I don't know if I'll be happy unless I have those, in red. Guess who doesn't make red shoes? Badgley Mischka. I've seen the same shoe in cranberry, but we're going for more a lipstick/cherry red.

Anyway, I need to work on this....I think they'd make a great Christmas or Birthday present, don't you?

Anyone have more red shoes options for me? I've searched Endless, Zappos and Heels...I don't know where else to go!

Almost Perfect

Ryan found me the hottest pair of shoes....but they aren't red, and they only come in white, navy, and cranberry. My dress is ivory, so even the white ones wouldn't work, and I have my heart set on red heels.

These are absolutely, 100% perfect...except for the unfortunate color selection, making them more like 85% perfect.

How gorgeous are those! I am no where near brave enough to attempt to dye $150 shoes. I read that you should only try to dye satin shoes if the shoe has no polyester in it, and that 99.9% of satin shoes contain polyester.

Are you dying your shoes? Would you be brave enough to dye these sexy shoes?
