Hair Trial

I had my hair trial last weekend, and it went super, super well.

I wanted it down in loose curls with some volume on the top, and I got just that.

In my car 5 seconds after:

8 hours later:

8 hours later from the side:

It took an hour and a half, so I'm glad we know to budget more time in for the day of the wedding. The hair stylist was a friend of Ryan's sister Erin and she will be doing my hair on the day of the wedding. I don't think we'll really do anything differently, this hair stayed put through wind and 90% humidity for a good 8 hours. Talk about staying power....and I have thin, fine hair that goes limp pretty much 2 seconds after I'm done styling it. So yeah, I'm thrilled with it, and relieved that I can have the hair style I want without it falling apart and looking straggly.

How are you wearing your hair for the wedding? How did your hair trial go?

Hairpiece

I'm not wearing a veil, and the cute wedding hair flowers look tough to rock with me wearing my hair down and everything, but I kind of want a headband. A sparkly one.

I really like the double look:

You know how I feel about leaves....

God bless Emma Pilsbury....

I don't know how well those pretty satin ribbon headbands would really stay put though, and WHOA are they pricey.

But this one is only $9, it's not satin so I know it would stay put, and it would be a piece of cake to pin a rhinestone pin on one side:

Hmmm. Even if it doesn't work for the wedding, pretty much every day is messy bun day in these parts and a headband such as this would dress this daily occurrence up very nicely.

Shipping's only a $1.50. This might have to happen.

What are you wearing in your hair? My friend Melissa has some lovely plans, I can't wait to see them!

Long and Loose

Long, hopefully, thanks to the pre-natal vitamins I've been taking every morning!

My hair, that is.

I've decided to wear my hair down.

Ok quick aside...I kind of feel frivolous and silly for investing as much time and energy into my wedding hairstyle as I have. Wedding brain is taking over!

Moving on, I'm taking prenatal vitamins to make my hair grow. Hopefully it will thicken up too, because I have really thin, flat hair.

I'd like my hair to look something like this:

Haha, totally kidding, this movie was on last night and I thought it'd be funny to bring this "inspiration pic" to my hair trial and enjoy the look on the stylist's face when I tell her this is what I want. Seriously, I'm thinking something along these lines:

Or this:

But this is my favorite. Maybe it's because my hair is so flat, but I am a sucker for volume!

There's no way my hair will get that long, but I'd like another 4-6 inches by July. So I will keep chugging pre-natals (they are awesome for your skin, by the way, but haven't seen any difference in my hair yet and I've been taking them for 2-3 weeks) and getting trims, and hopefully I'll have a decent amount of length. I do know I want to volume on the top, loose curls, and my normal side part.

I am also considering a pretty piece for my hair, like this maybe:

Also love this:

I would probably attempt to make my own hair ornament, due to cost. These pretty little things have big price tags!
